About Al
Albert Nalley is committed to Maryland families and the issues that affect the lives of everyday people. A small business owner who has a solid reputation for budget expertise and for challenging the status quo in state government, he believes government should be accountable to educate our children and maintain essential services such as transportation and law enforcement supported by a tax system that is fair and efficient.
Albert Nalley has worked tirelessly as a community advocate to increase accountability of elected officials who have failed to provide an adequate education system and ensure the best use of the taxpayers’ dollars.
A lifelong resident of our district and one who understands our challenges, Albert Nalley has owned and operated a small business for more than 10 years. His experience as a small business leader has taught him about the fundamentals of job creation, the responsibilities of meeting a payroll, and the negative effects that over-taxation and undue regulation can have in discouraging entrepreneurship and diminishing business growth.
Albert Nalley decided several years ago to help change government for the better and make a difference for Marylanders. Voters recognized Albert’s commitment to the community and elected him to the Baltimore County Republican Central Committee in 2002.
Area residents recognize his leadership skills. Albert has been a key player in southwest Baltimore County, chairing a voter registration committee that earned him an award for outstanding results in voter registration. In 2004, he was elected Vice President of the Patapsco Valley Republican Club.
Beyond his responsibilities as a business owner and community leader, Albert Nalley also has been an active member in a number of business associations, including the Arbutus Professional Business Association, National Federation of Independent Businesses, and the Steel Club of Baltimore. His service has extended to several community organizations as well, including the Sons of the American Legion, Catonsville Parks and Recreation, Mount de Sales Academy, St. Mark School, and USSSA Girl’s Fast Pitch as an umpire for local games.
Albert has also led several area improvements projects for area community groups including restoration of flagpoles vandalized at the Halethorpe American Legion Post 109, donation of memorial park benches at the Wilkens Precinct police station, painting the Arbutus Community flagpole and clock, and supplying flagpoles for the Baltimore Highland, Lansdowne, and Riverview welcome sign. He also participated in raising funds for Maryland Special Olympics through the Polar Bear Plunge and a crab cake eating contest for the Arbutus Volunteer Firehouse.
Albert Nalley attended Catonsville Community College, graduated from Landsdowne High School in 1969, and attended school at Arbutus Middle School and Riverview Elementary. He resides in Catonsville with his wife, Ginger, an area schoolteacher, and their three daughters.
